It’s here! We’re so excited and happy to finally have Miranda’s new book, Modern Meat Kitchen, in store!
Already featured in this past weekend’s Times Magazine, the book is a fantastic read for any conscientious meat-eater. In it, Miranda discusses the history of meat-eating, the differences between good meat and cheap meat (they should teach that bit in schools) and everything from how to cut down your own meats at home – through to her favourite recipes, some new, some twists on old favourites.
Here she is to tell you a little bit about the book – “What I found most daunting was that it’s a big grown up meat book…!”
Its beautifully presented, with outstanding photography by Steve Painter – scenic farm and animal shots along with a series of instructional images to help you cut down your own joints of meat at home, mouthwatering shots of all of the recipes.
We use the term “Cooktchery” in the shop to describe doing a spot of butchery at home yourself – and in the book Miranda covers all the bases on how to get stuck in, supporting this with details for different cooking methods – and how they suit which kinds of meat.
It really does cover everything! From understanding different cuts, where they come from on the animal – right through to how to prepare and some secret Muddy Boots insider tips (ever wondered why our burgers are just so darn good?) We’re obviously biased – but it really is the perfect gift for the upcoming season.
Fancy a teaser? Yeah you do.
You can grab a copy of Modern Meat Kitchen online, or of course – in store. If you fancy it signed or dedicated, just let us know and Miranda is more than happy to do so!
AND because we are clever clogs, we’re now offering shipping on all of Miranda’s books in store, from today. Hurrah!
